Two Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
